Most practitioners ask you to believe them.

This page is where I stop asking.

In August 2026 I pre-registered the Autosomatic Resolution Programme, a formal observational study documenting the outcomes of my sessions. The questions, the measures and the analysis plan were timestamped in public before a single data point existed. They cannot be rewritten to fit the results.

What follows is what is being measured, how, and what it will take for you to be part of it.

Why I am researching my own work

People come to me carrying things that have not shifted anywhere else.

Pain that outlasted the physio, the scan and the all-clear. A shoulder that never came back. Anxiety that survived years of understanding it.

In session after session, I kept watching something change.

I could fill this page with those stories. I am choosing not to, because stories are not evidence, and you have already been asked to run on hope somewhere else.

So instead of testimonials, a study. Every eligible session is scored before and after on the same validated scales used in published pain and trauma research, followed up at one, six and twelve months, and, in some cases, independently observed by a clinician with no stake in the outcome.

I do not know yet what the data will show. That is the point of collecting it. Everything gets published, including the results I will not enjoy.

What is being documented

Every presentation is measured the same way, before and after.

Physical presentations

Persistent pain, restriction and function

A shoulder that will not lift, a back that guards, a gut that keeps the score of a difficult year.

Psychological presentations

Anxiety, grief and old trauma

The patterns that insight alone has not resolved.

Both are measured the same way: your own severity score before and after the session, your own words about what changed, and follow-up months later to see whether it held.

The evidence standard

Anyone can say their approach works. This is what I am holding mine to instead.

Pre-registered on OSF

The research questions, measures and analysis plan were registered and timestamped on 5 August 2026, before data collection began. View the registration.

Independent clinical observers

A physiotherapist and a medical consultant, unaffiliated with the programme and unpaid, observe sessions and file their own written assessments.

Validated measures

VAS, SUD and PSFS, the same scales used in published pain and trauma research, recorded before and after every session and again at 1, 6 and 12 months.

Everything published

Positive, null or negative. No result gets buried because it is inconvenient.

Surgical and medical cases, documented with care

Where a participant reports that surgery had been recommended, the study records what happens over twelve months, with independent confirmation where the participant consents. To be clear about what this is not: taking part in this work is never a reason to delay, decline or reconsider surgery or any medical treatment. You keep every appointment, every prescription and every clinician. Decisions about your medical care belong to you and your own doctors, and I will say exactly that to you in the room.

Who this is not for

This work sits alongside your medical care, never in place of it.

If you have new or undiagnosed symptoms, see your GP first. A symptom that has not been assessed needs a doctor before it needs me.

If you are in crisis right now, this is not the page you need. Contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call Samaritans free on 116 123, any hour, any day.

If you are currently in a psychiatric crisis or experiencing psychosis, sessions are not suitable and the study cannot include you. That is a boundary for your protection, not a judgement.

Two ways to be part of it

Book a 1:1 session.

At the end, you will be offered the option of having your anonymised scores included in the dataset, under a code you choose yourself. Taking part is optional and changes nothing about your session. Declining changes nothing either.

Train with me.

SomaGenics advanced practitioner training runs several times a year. Outcomes that occur in the training room are recorded with your consent, never in a way that identifies you.

WHAT PARTICIPATION ACTUALLY INVOLVES

Nothing changes about your session.

The measurement adds a few minutes: a score before, a score after, your own words.

Follow-up is optional.

A three-question check-in at 1, 6 and 12 months, if you consent to it.

Your name never enters the dataset.

You choose your own code. The mapping between you and your code exists only with you.

You can withdraw at any time.

No questions asked.

Where this is heading

A published, peer-reviewable body of evidence.

The dataset is offered to independent researchers at 50 documented sessions across at least 10 participants, with further milestones at 100 and 150 to 200 sessions aimed at peer-reviewed publication. Every milestone will be reported here and on the OSF registration, whatever the numbers say.

0 Programme launch, 2026
50 Dataset opened to reviewers
100 Second review milestone
150–200 Peer-reviewed publication
Documented sessions Target: peer review

Closing

I cannot tell you what a session will do for you. Nobody honest can, before they have met you.

What I can tell you is what I measure, how I measure it, and that the results will be public whichever way they fall.

If something you have carried for years has not shifted anywhere else, the study is open, and so is my diary. If now is not the time, the registration and the protocol are here whenever you want to read them.

If you are struggling right now

If you are in crisis, in acute distress, or thinking about harming yourself, this page is not the right place for you tonight and I would rather say so than have you keep scrolling.

Please contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call the Samaritans free on 116 123, at any hour. In an emergency, call 999.

The work described here is for people who are stable and supported. It is not crisis support, and it is not a substitute for mental health care.
