 Why Havening? Why Now?

A client can understand what happened, recognise their patterns and know that they are safe now, yet still experience the same emotional or physical reaction.

Havening Techniques® is a psychosensory approach that uses touch, attention and distraction as part of seven structured protocols. It gives practitioners additional ways to work with regulation, resilience and learned threat responses when insight alone has not changed what remains active.

The Relief of Having Another Way Forward:

When you care deeply about your clients, it is hard to watch the same activation return despite good work, insight and regulation.

Havening can offer the relief of:

  • Insight not changing the reaction: A way to work with what remains active
  • Regulation helping but not lasting: The possibility of working towards resolution
  • The story being unavailable: Content-free ways of working without detailed disclosure
  • Not knowing where to go next: Seven protocols supported by clear assessment frameworks
  • One approach not fitting every client: Responsive choices guided by what is present
  • Carrying the work yourself: Self-Havening tools to support your own nervous system
  • Feeling responsible for producing change: A collaborative process that preserves client agency

For many practitioners, discovering Havening feels like finding the piece they knew was missing.

You Will Not Be Left to Figure It Out Alone

Learning the protocols is the beginning. Becoming a confident practitioner comes through using them, reflecting on what happened and receiving precise feedback.

Your training includes:

  • Three days of live teaching, demonstration and supported practice
  • Mentoring through 20 written and three video case studies
  • Six group supervision sessions
  • Three individual 20-minute calls with me
  • Email access while you work towards certification
  • Monthly practitioner meet-ups for one year
  • A dedicated learning portal
  • An introduction to my advanced Soma work

 Jenna Nye

I did not come to Havening because I wanted another qualification. I found it after years of understanding my experiences without being able to stop the activation they created. Experiencing that change brought the same relief many practitioners describe: yes, this is what has been missing.

I became a Certified Havening Techniques® Trainer in 2021. Today, I teach practitioners to work with Havening responsively and safely, understanding not only how to apply the techniques, but how to recognise what is present, select an appropriate protocol and test what has genuinely changed.
